In 2025 (2024 incomes) Italy’s Gini index is 31.0: higher than the EU-27 figure (29.2). The Gini index runs from 0, if everyone has the same income, to 100, if one person has all the income. The data come from the European survey on income and living conditions (EU-SILC), carried out in Italy by ISTAT.
